Hello, escapees! ๐Ÿ‘‹

It's finally September, which means it's time to share this comic by Stephen Collins I've had saved for the newsletter for months about one of the hardest 'escape rooms' there is ๐Ÿค”

Jokes aside, it's been a busy month for us! The wider Escape Industry Newsletter team has just returned from RECON, but there's no time to rest as soon it'll be Salon de L'Escape Game, and ERIC at the Immersive Summit time.

It's been fantastic meeting and chatting with owners, operators and enthusiasts, and we'd love to extend a big shout out to all the people involved in putting on these fantastic events and conferences worldwide!

In this month's issue, TERPECA season has officially kicked off, the CFIA (an organisation dedicated to preserving immersive history) has been founded, and countless new escape rooms have popped up all around the world.

Last but not least, if you're planning anything fun in your marketing calendar - don't forget October 1st is World Escape Room Day.

Escape Room Day is coming up on October 1st

Not quite 'news', but every year I put Escape Room Day in October's Escape Industry Newsletter, but really it should go in September so folks have time to plan exactly how they want to 'celebrate'. Why October 1st? It's a particularly puzzling date. Taking the values of each of the letters in ESCAPE ROOM (where E=5, S=19) and so on, the sum of the word comes to 110. From here, 110 became 1-10, or 1st October.

๐Ÿ”Ž September's Puzzle

For this month's puzzle, enjoy this classic riddle:

You're lost in a maze when you come across three doors. One of the doors tells the truth, while the other doors always lie.

๐Ÿšช The first door has a sign that reads "The way out is beyond this door"

๐Ÿšช The middle door has a sign that reads "The way out is beyond one of these doors"
๐Ÿšช The last door has a sign that reads "The way out is beyond the middle door"

Which door will you go through? Tweet us your answer @escapeindustry
